or 4 Angel Tickets including parking, 10 oz Silver Bar plus many others.

Envoy, Bill, relaxing in the Bull Ring after playing a game of bowling on the
WII to possibly win one of the prizes for the mens activities on the cruise.

In the state of California, tradition calls for any husband or significant other of the
hosting area council board members to automatically participate on the
committee to plan the mens activities for the upcoming convention.
This year the entire group of men from the  SCC Area Council
did an exceptional  job planning and gathering prizes for the cruise.

There were 101 men in attendance, but many were camera shy.

Envoy II, Scott

Mary S. of Grand Rapids, Michigan has written and  has proudly shared the following with International.

My son, Scott, became the first Envoy II member in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He also is the first Envoy II in his family.

Scott is 16 years old and has been following in his father's footsteps since he could walk.  Whenever Michigan Xi Zeta Nu, Grand Rapids, had a meeting, Scott always was there to help his "aunts" with whatever was needed.  He would open the door and welcome them and assist with their coats as they arrived. When they left, Scott helped carry sorority items to and from their cars and even brushed snow off their cars in the winter.  At age 8, Scott assisted my chapter with collecting and delivering blankets to the homeless.

I have been a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 18 years and his dad, like Scott, was born into it.  Beta Sigma Phi has become a part of his life as well as ours.  He is a third generation envoy member.  His grandfather was the first envoy in the City of Grand Rapids, his father also is an envoy member and now Scott has joined the elite ranks of envoys.

Needless to say, his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and those that know Scott are very proud of him.  He also just became an Eagle Scout in February, 2010, attends Cedar Springs High School as a sophmore, is a varsity team wrestler and also varsity team golfer.  He enjoys these sports, spending time with his friends, family and living life to the fullest.

I have attached a photo from his Envoy II Ritual which was held at a park in Comstock Park in May, 2009.  The first photo is of Scott, his dad, Bart and myself.   The second photo is a photo of all envoys from the Xi Zeta Nu Chapter - Scott S., Bart S., Jim U. and Dan M.

It is great to be able to share sorority activities with the men in our lives
and know they enjoy participating and being involved.

Thank you.  Mary

The Envoy II Program

In 2006, many of our members requested a method for making their sons feel special since they were feeling left out. Boys could not become legacies of Beta Sigma Phi. Quite a few boys under the age of 18 tend to help the Beta Sigma Phi members in many various situations.

The International Executive Council created the Envoy II program. This allows the members to thank the young men who have been supportive, helpful and have encouraged Beta Sigma Phi efforts and activities.

To enroll a young man under the age of eighteen, just complete the enrollment form that can be found on our home web page  located under the Download title.   Or, telephone the Rushing Department toll free at 1-888-238-2221. We only need the young man's name, home address (if different from sponsors) and $15.00 enrollment fee. After the Envoy II is enrolled, the International Office will send an Envoy II Pin, an Envoy II membership card and a copy of the Envoy II Ritual.

Chapters may then recognize their Envoy II in any manner, annually or more often each year. An appreciation banquet, a picnic or just a fun pot luck, the decision is up to the members.

Sports Party
A sports themed party isn't just for kids any more, many of our Envoys enjoy choosing a theme that suits their group.  It could be football, baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis, and golf.

Golf is the perfect choice since Summer is around the corner.   Use die cuts to shape your invitations into golf balls, golf clubs,   or golf hats and you will be "teeingoff "
for a great start to your party.

Every golfer would like to play golf at the Masters Tournament, so use green as
your main decorating color.  Men are very competitive by nature. Set up a putting green

course to have a competition to win prizes.   Your prizes might even include
a jacket for the overall winner.  A green jacket can usually be found  at the local
Goodwill Store and with a patch added to the pocket,   you can really
let the winner feel special.

If you're lucky enough to have access to the local driving range or golf course, you can really have the men get into the "swing" of the theme.   If you live in a small community where golf carts are used as the main transportation around town, set up a golf cart course.  Include not only a course that is a challenge to maneuver but along the way, stations where a specific activity is required before continuing.

Refreshments are easy since men love to barbecue.  Choose hamburgers, brats, potato salad, chips & dips, and beverages.

Any sports party of your choice and easy food are sure to be a hit!

The Envoy Program

In 1983, many of our members requested a method for honoring men who were friends, helpers and advisors to them in their chapters or council activities. Men have been especially helpful with convention props, set ups and entertainment.  The International Executive Council created the Envoy Program. This allows the members to thank those men who have been supportive, helpful and have encouraged Beta Sigma Phi efforts and activities.

To enroll a man, just complete the enrollment form that can be found on our home web page under the Download title.  Or, telephone the Rushing Department toll free at 1-888-238-2221. We only need the man's name, home address (if different from sponsor's) and $15.00 enrollment fee. After the Envoy is enrolled, the International Office will send an Envoy Pin, a certificate, an Envoy membership card and a copy of the Envoy Ritual.  Chapters may then recognize and honor their Envoys in any manner, annually or more often each year. An appreciation banquet, a picnic or just a fun pot luck, the decision is up to the members.
